Why was GA Medical EMS Limited Established?
Accessing healthcare should never be stressful — yet for many people, getting to appointments or day services is one of the biggest challenges they face.
-
NHS Patient Transport Delays
NHS non-emergency transport services are often oversubscribed and under pressure, leading to long waits, delayed appointments, and unnecessary stress for patients and families. -
Risks of Taxi Services
While taxis may seem like a quick solution, they are not designed for vulnerable passengers. Drivers are rarely trained in dementia awareness, safeguarding, or first aid, and standard vehicles often cannot accommodate wheelchairs safely. For patients who may feel anxious, frail, or need a steadying hand, this lack of specialist support creates unnecessary risk. -
The Gap in the Middle
Between oversubscribed NHS transport and unsuitable taxis, many patients are left without a safe, reliable option. That’s where GA Medical EMS Limited comes in.
Our Purpose
GA Medical EMS Limited was established to bridge this gap — providing safe, reliable, and dignified transport for people who need more than a taxi, but who do not require personal care, medical treatment, or CQC-regulated services.
Our service ensures that:
-
Passengers travel in a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), designed for both ambulant and wheelchair users.
-
Every journey is handled by uniformed, ID-badged staff trained in first aid, dementia awareness, safeguarding, and health & safety.
-
Journeys are pre-booked and punctual, giving patients and families peace of mind.
-
For those who want company during their appointment, our optional Companion Service (£15 per 30 minutes) provides reassurance — without entering into personal care.
Our Mission
Simply put: GA Medical EMS Limited exists so patients and families no longer have to choose between long NHS delays and unsafe, unsuitable taxis. We provide a professional, lawful, and people-focused alternative that ensures every journey is safe, respectful, and stress-free.
